Travel Tips
FLIGHTS & AIRPORTS
If you’d like to participate fully in Day 1 on Monday, we recommend arriving on Sunday evening. If you’d like to stay for lunch on Day 2, please plan to depart in the mid-afternoon or later on Tuesday.
The closest airport is the Sacramento International Airport (SMF). For additional flight options, the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK) are about an hour and a half drive away, or consider public transportation options, which may be more efficient during rush hours (see Transportation section below).
Transportation
Airport: More information about ground transportation options at each airport can be found at the following links:
- Sacramento International Airport (SMF)
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
- Oakland International Airport (OAK)
If you choose to stay at the Wyndham Garden Sacramento Airport Natomas Hotel (see Hotels section below), they offer a free airport shuttle service.
Day 1: We will be at the Urban Hive all day on Monday. There are several options to get to Urban Hive, including the following:
- Walk: about 15 minutes from the Embassy Suites
- Public transportation: Yolobus or Sacramento Regional Transit
- Taxi/rideshare
If you have a rental or personal vehicle, public parking is available across the street at the Downtown Commons East Parking Garage on 7th St for $4/hour (card and cash accepted).
Day 2: We will provide transportation to the tour sites, departing from and returning to the Embassy Suites by Hilton Sacramento Riverfront Promenade (100 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA 95814). If you prefer to drive your rental or personal vehicle, addresses are listed in the Day 2 itinerary. If you drive to Embassy Suites to join the group transportation, please note that parking is valet-only at $35/day. Public parking is available off-site nearby.
