Charles Dukes is a distinguished education leader, excelling in team development, grant initiatives, and operational efficiency. As the Senior Policy Director and Director of the Center for Education at Keystone, Charles ensures active engagement with families and collaboration with key education stakeholders. His primary focus is on cultivating strategic partnerships to identify and seize opportunities for innovation within the education system.

Prior to his role at Keystone, Charles served as a Senior Program Officer at Wend Collective, where he led a $7 million annual grant strategy, emphasizing funding for minority-led non-profits. His commitment to social and racial justice is evident through both internal initiatives and key partnerships with philanthropic entities.

Charles has held significant roles at the City of Denver, addressing educational policies, fostering collaborative networks, and spearheading vital post-secondary initiatives. His expertise extends to Aurora Public Schools and Denver Public Schools, where he enhanced program operations and facilitated accelerated learning opportunities. Additionally, he played a pivotal role at the Colorado Department of Education, advocating for support for rural communities, professional school-based counselors, and access to rigorous academic courses.

Currently, as an at-large City Councilor for Commerce City, Charles leads efforts for balanced growth, public safety, and improved infrastructure. He holds advanced degrees in both Leadership and Education Foundations Policy/ Practice. He actively contributes to various boards, including the Colorado Mesa University Board of Trustees, The Chef Ann Foundation Board of Directors, and The STEAD School Board of Directors.
