As the Senior Engagement Marketing Coordinator, Ashley strategically manages day-to-day marketing operations to support growing and meaningfully engaging with the organization’s key audiences. 

After studying journalism and mass communications at Seattle University, Ashley taught lawyers how to blog at LexBlog, Inc., crafted press releases for Slow Food USA, and worked at various small sustainable farms in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She was a Cooking Matters volunteer in Idaho and, most recently, served as the communications lead at the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, a nonprofit serving sustainable and organic farms in North and South Carolina. 

On any given day, you can find her sipping sencha and trying to get outside.

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K–12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
