Bethany Markee holds over 28 years of culinary experience in the restaurant industry. She received professional training at a culinary school on the coast of Maine and has been cooking on the California coast for over 20 years.
Bethany truly has a passion for cooking healthy food for all students and educating students about nutrition, cooking, and wellness. She started working in the school food industry in 2011 as a chef instructor for the Orfalea Foundation and hasn’t looked back since then. Bethany is dedicated to providing the best possible school food for children.
Currently, Chef Bethany resides in Solvang, CA. Before joining CAF, she served as the Director of Child Nutrition for the Orcutt Union School District for the past seven years. She has introduced more scratch cooking to the nutrition program and established a popular Culinary Arts Program for students at The Orcutt Union School District.
