Kathleen joined the Chef Ann Foundation team in November 2024 as the Senior Coordinator of Policy and Advocacy. In this role, she will steward the organization’s policy agenda, working closely with advocacy coalitions to strengthen collective efforts to drive impactful school food policy solutions forward with state and federal lawmakers.

Kathleen joined the Chef Ann Foundation team in November 2024 as the Senior Coordinator of Policy and Advocacy. In this role, she will steward the organization’s policy agenda, working closely with advocacy coalitions to strengthen collective efforts to drive impactful school food policy solutions forward with state and federal lawmakers.

Before joining CAF, Kathleen worked as a policy organizer with the Illinois Stewardship Alliance to design and advocate for policy solutions that help grow Illinois’ local food economy. Through this work, she lead several policy campaigns, winning solutions to bring more state funding for local food infrastructure and farm-to-school initiatives. Kathleen remains dedicated to driving meaningful policy change to support sustainable and healthy food systems, with a strong commitment to building equitable, community-centered solutions.  

Kathleen enjoys rock climbing and teaching Lindy Hop lessons at her local swing dance studio during her free time.

Why School Food Matters

American kids start their life-path in K–12 schools where they learn the skills necessary to thrive & meet their potential. While the country debates the best ways to teach them math, science & English, we spend little to no time on food & nutrition.
